Community Groups are one of the key places where we connect and experience the “informal” times of worship we see in Acts 2:42-47. It’s the place where we can be joined to one another, be devoted to one another, counsel (Romans 15:14) and honor one another (Romans 12:10), confess our sins, forgive, bear with, carry the burdens of, be kind to, teach and admonish, build up, pray for, and love one another. We like to call them “the heart beat of the church.”
Community groups are a vehicle for primarily three things: discipleship, pastoral care, and mission.
Getting connected goes beyond the Sunday morning gatherings into living life together, and Community Groups are a primary vehicle for this. Sunday gatherings are a time of worshipful celebration together in song, communion, and the preached Word. Community Groups are about discipling one another, serving one another in love, and reaching out to our broader community. We encourage you to get connected with us through this vital ministry in the life of our church.
FAQ’s about Community Groups:
Why Should I Join A Community Group?
We gather together to learn how to love God and love one another. Groups are not only the primary entry point into community within Gulf Coast Community Church, they also represent the church on a personal level. Joining a community group is the best way to truly be a part of Gulf Coast Community Church.
What Should I Expect?
We meet in a home once a week for around 2 hours to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. You do not have to be a member of Gulf Coast Community Church to be a part of a Community Group. All are welcome!
